Tomasz Urbanek is vascular surgeon from Medical University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland. He is the past president of Polish Society of Phlebology as well as member of many international societies including American Venous Forum, European Venous Forum and American Vein and Lymphatic Society. Prof. Urbanek is member of the European Board of Phlebology. He was the organizer and congress president of the International Union of Phlebology Chapter Meeting in Krakow in August 2019. He is also the member of the organizing committee of the EVF HOW and  EVF HOW PLUS courses as well as several other phlebological conferences including annually organized International Symposium on Venous Interventions in Krakow and Expert Venous Management – Europe meetings. His main field of interest is pathogenesis and treatment of chronic venous disease, venous thromboembolism prophylaxis and treatment as well as postthrombotic syndrome
